Maurice Audin, born on February 14, 1932, in Béja (Tunisia) and officially declared dead on June 21, 1957, in Algiers, was a French mathematician. An assistant at the University of Algiers, he was a member of the Algerian Communist Party and an activist for Algerian independence.
