For every degree of warming, the atmosphere can absorb seven percent more water vapor. As a result, precipitation and thunderstorms are becoming more frequent and intense, and hailstones are becoming ever larger. The consequences are fatal. Extreme precipitation, hail, storms, and thunderstorms destroy cars, roofs, crops, and livelihoods. In Germany alone, the German Insurers' Association has calculated total damages of €5.7 billion for 2023.
